GROUP MEDICAL VISITS - A Doctor Visit, Plus!

Asthma Group Medical Visits

Asthma Group Medical Visits are a way for patients to receive their usual medical care with the doctor while getting the added benefit of speaking to other guest experts and peers.  The focus of the Asthma Group Medical Visit is to help patients learn how to better care for their asthma.  Each month, we target a different age group to participate in the group visits.  Feel free to call us and ask which ages will be meeting this month.

You can choose to continue to see your doctor individually at any time, but the Asthma Group Medical Visit may be beneficial to you because:

  • Your doctor and other guest experts will spend about 30-45 talking to you, and a small group of other people who have asthma.  They will help you learn how to take better care of your asthma.

  • You will get the usual medical care you are use to such as your peak flows, medication use/dosage review, a review of your symptoms, and an asthma action plan.

  • You will have lots of time to ask questions.

  • You will be here for 1- 2 hours, and will receive care the entire time.

  • You will spend time during your visit the other people in the group, which will allow for sharing experiences, but will see the Doctor and Nurse individually.

If you  are interested in participating in the next Asthma Group Medical Visit call our office at 919.235.0543 to see when the next scheduled Asthma Group Medical visits takes place.

* Remember - You are encouraged to bring a family member or support person with you.
